Dr. Petra Persolja's musical journey has taken her across continents and through a rich tapestry of cultures. From captivating audiences in the continental United States, to enchanting listeners amids the tropical beauty of the Hawaiiand islands, charming landscapes of Italy, Croatia, and her native Slovenia, her music knows no bounds.
With a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance earned from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2020, Petra's academic prowess is matched only by her passion for the piano. Her inventive doctoral research centered on the Istrian Scale, a musical gem born from the vibrant fusion of Slovenian, Italian, and Croatian cultures.
Petra's educational journey has been astonishing, armed with a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Hawaii, she also boasts dual Bachelor degrees in Piano Performance from Rowan University in New Jersey. Not to mention, a Bachelor in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Prior to Hawaii, Petra earned two Bachelor degrees of Music in Piano Performance from Rowan University in New Jersey, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Ljubljana. Her early achievements include the Brahms Award at the International Music Competition Francesco Forgione in Italy, an honor that led to her being featured in a Solo Recital Series by the Associazione Dino Ciani. She also secured third prize at the NJMTA competition in Princeton, along with the Scarlatti Award and two Gold medals at the National Competition for Young Musicians of the Republic of Slovenia in both piano solo and piano duo categories
